- Join me each month for a journey into my world. Choose from my three personas. Country Jim grew up on a farm in Botetourt County, Virginia. I attended Asbury Elementary School and went to the local Baptist church. I share a view of the world of the late fifties and early sixties through the eyes of a kid on the farm. Travelin' Jim lived in Botetourt County, Virginia and taught History to students at James River High School in Buchanan, Virginia. That period of my life stretched from 1971 through 2005. I ran ultra marathons, hiked on the Appalachian Trail, took some trips to the western US. NOVA Jim got married to Harriette in 2005 and now resides in Gainesville, Virginia. I share my experiences with my wife and enjoy the excitement which a fulfilled life brings to me each day.
